Building on its recent five-point-plan, on Friday 2 June National Grid ESO (NGESO) announced that it is introducing additional targeted reforms to speed up connections to the electricity grid.
On Tuesday 16 May, Ofgem published an open letter on future reform to the electricity connections process. This follows a recognition that there is a pressing need to prepare the energy system for a significant increase in nuclear power, offshore wind, and solar power generation capacity which will be needed to meet decarbonisation goals and growing electricity demand.
