On Monday 22 January, National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO) announced that the name of the forthcoming Future System Operator (FSO) will be the National Energy System Operator (NESO). It states that NESO will be an independent, expert and impartial organisation that will ensure GB’s energy system is secure and affordable. The ESO will retain its name until NESO launches this summer.
