ESC publishes report on locational wholesale electricity market designs

On Monday 30 October, Energy Systems Catapult (ESC) published a report on its assessment of locational wholesale electricity market design options in GB. The report, written in conjunction with FTI consulting, advises Ofgem on the implications of introducing nodal pricing and outlines ESC’s assumptions, analyses, and key findings. In the report, bill reductions, societal benefits, and emissions reductions are compared in nodal and zonal markets.
