SSEN Transmission given green light for net zero innovation projects

On Friday 7 April, SSEN Transmission issued a press release, welcoming the green light given to the three projects it had submitted to the Discovery Round 2 stage of Ofgem’s Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF). The projects are split into three phases beginning with the Discovery Phase, which will last up to three months and aims to de-risk technical uncertainties. The subsequent phases (Alpha and Beta) will progress the technology further up the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and towards implementation. The three projects are aimed at providing strategic insight to help inform network design, early identification of grid connection alternatives, and ensuring greater supply chain resilience.
