Ofgem sets out approach to network charging reforms

On Tuesday 8 November, Ofgem published an open letter regarding its approach toward the electricity network charging reforms this winter. The letter outlines Ofgem’s decision to pause the progress of longer-term projects such as the Transmission Network Use of System (TNUoS) Taskforce, as well as putting a hold on Distribution Use of System (DUoS) indefinitely.

However, it will continue to focus its efforts in the near-term on Balancing Service Use of System (BSUoS) reforms, Targeted Charging Review (TCR), and Access Significant Code Reviews. While some areas of work have been deferred, Ofgem notes that these will be kept under review and revisited in the future.
